Mrs. Jodi Lamm
September Teacher of the Month
Tucumcari Middle School

Biography:

Mrs. Lamm is the Family and Consumer Science teacher at Tucumcari Middle School. This is her 24th year to teach, with 13 of those years being here at Tucumcari Middle School. She was Salutatorian at Tucumcari High School in 1982 and received her Bachelor of Science degree from NMSU in 1986 with a major in Home Economics. She taught for two years in Carrizozo before getting married and moving to Waco, Tx. There she taught at Robinson Middle School for two years. After moving back to New Mexico she taught for four years at Espanola Valley High School and three years at Moriarty High School. She also has a Master's Degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Family and Consumer Science from ENMU.

Mrs. Lamm was the FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America - formerly known as FHA - Future Homemakers of America) advisor for all of her teaching career except two years in Waco, so this is her 22nd year to be the advisor for that group. She was honored with the "Master Advisor" award in 2001. For the past five years she has been advisor for both the Middle School and High School chapters here in Tucumcari. She took a state officer to Chicago in 2004, then had three students qualify for Nationals in Florida in 2008. During the summer of 2009 she took six qualifying students plus a state officer to the National FCCLA meeting in Nashville.

Mrs. Lamm's husband, Robert Lamm is a Special Education Teacher at Tucumcari High School and they have four lovely and bright daughters. Katie is a Junior at Tucumcari High School and Kassie is in the 8th grade at Tucumcari Middle School. Kami is in the 5th grade and Kelli is in the 1st grade at Tucumcari Elementary School.
